Saanich PD issues $1,127 fine to driver for speeding near playground zone

A┬ádriver was speeding down Emily Carr drive in a playground zone when a Saanich Police officer caught him. The officer handed the driver a $1127 fine. Now, it wasn’t just because of the speeding since the driver was also driving without insurance and didn’t have a license on them.

They will have to pay the standard $253 for speeding in a playground zone but also the $276 for driving without a license and a hefty $598 charge for not having insurance.

The driver probably wasn’t amused. Many on social media reacted to the photo in saying that the charge is far too much. In any case, this has been a very expensive lesson for the driver!
